Day 01 – Arrive Paro
You will be welcome by the representative of our company and take you to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 02 – Paro
Morning tour of Paro City. Visit Taktshang monastery, the name Taktsang means Tiger’s Nest, the Legend has it that Guru Padmasambhawa, believed as the second Buddha. Visit Drugyel Dzong, the ruined victorious fortress of the Drukpas. The Dzong was built in 1649 by Shabdrung Nawang Namgyel to commemorate the victory of Bhutan over Tibetan Invaders in 1644. Kychu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the Kingdom built in 659 AD by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. Visit National Museum popularly known to the local Bhutanese as Ta Dzong or Watch Tower, originally built in 1656 as the Watch Tower of Paro Dzong. Evening is free.
Day 03 – Paro – Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu. En-route visiting Tachogang Monaster, Simtokha Dzong, and the oldest fortress of the Kingdom, built in 1627. Later visit the painting and woodcrafts schools, National Library and see the ancient manuscripts preserved there, Jungshi paper factory, third king’s memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong, the main Government Secretariat building. Afternoon is free. Overnight in Thimphu for one night stay.
Day 04 – Thimphu – Punakha
Drive to Punakha en-route stop at Dochu La (3,100 meters from sea level) for a spectacular views of the Himalayas. Visit Punakha Dzong, the formal capital of Bhutan. Overnight in Punakha for one night stay.
Day 05 – Punakha – Gangtey
After breakfast you will drive to Gangtey (9840feet from sea level) via Wangdue. Enroute Wangdue town located south of Punakha and is the last town before central Bhutan. Later visit Wangdue Dzong. Later in the afternoon drive pass through dense forests of oak trees and rhododendrons and arrive at Gantey village. Visit Gantey Gompa, the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan. Overnight in Gangtey for one night stay.
Day 06 – Gangtey – Trongsa
You will drive to Trongsa (Altitude: 7600 feet) the ancestral home of the royal family. Passing through beautiful forests as well as high passes from where you can have breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Overnight in Trongsa for one night stay. Later in the afternoon visit Trongsa Dzong one of the biggest and the most impressive dzong in Bhutan signifying the magnificent work of Buddhist architecture.
Day 07 – Trongsa – Bumthang
Drive to Jakar/Bumthang (Altidude: 8530 feet) this fascinating valley is the religious heartland of the nation and home of the oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries. We also cross one of the highest passes named Yotongla (Altidude: 17,000 feet.) along the East – West Highway on this drive. After lunch at Bumthang visit Jakar Dzong, the dzong built on a ridge overlooks the valley, visit Namkhe Nyingpo’s Dratshang. Afternoon is free. Overnight in Bumthang for two nights stay
Day 08 – Bhumthang
After breakfast visit; Jakar Dzong administrative center of Bumthang, Jambay Lhakhang it is one of the 108 monasteries build by Tibetan in the 8th centaury, Kurji Lhakhang it is dedicated to the saint Guru Padmasambhava, Tamshing Lhakhang it was built by Terton Pema Lingpa, Mountain Gangar Puensum (7239 meters from sea level).
Day 09 – Bumthang – Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu. Lunch at Chendebji. Overnight in Thimphu for one night stay.
Day 10 – Thimphu – Paro
After breakfast drive back to Paro. Overnight in Paro for one night stay.
Day 11 – Departure Paro
You will transfer to Paro airport for your onward flight.
