Day - 1 - Tokyo

On arrival at Narita Airport, our local representative will be waiting at the arrival counter outside the customs area to welcome you. After you check-in, your hotel, the day is free to enjoy the mega-metropolis of Tokyo on your own. Overnight at hotel Akasaka Excel or similar in Tokyo.

Day - 2 - Akihabara Electrical Town Ginza Odaiba Park Asakusa Temple

Today, we proceed on the guided city tour of Tokyo. Visit Akihabara Electrical Town. Known as the centre of gaming and animation culture, Akihabara is famous for its many electronics shops offering everything from the newest computers, cameras, televisions, mobile phones and home appliances to second-hand goods and electronic junk.

We now take you to Ginza, Tokyo's most famous upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment district, with numerous department stores and boutiques featuring virtually every leading brand name in fashion and cosmetics, art galleries, restaurants, night clubs and cafes. Later, we visit Odaiba Park where you have time to shop at Palette Town. Also, visit the Venus Fort and Aqua city. Take pictures of Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower and Statue of Liberty. Next, we visit the most popular Asakusa Temple. The heart of the Asakusa Temple complex is the Kannondo Temple with a history of more than 1300 years.

We stop at Nakamise Street where you can shop for souvenirs. Later, we visit the 243-meter tall Metropolitan Government Building and Observatory twin Towers for a spectacular view of Tokyo skyline. In the evening we take you to Shinjuku, the large entertainment, business & shopping area of Tokyo. Overnight at hotel Akasaka Excel or similar in Tokyo.

Day - 3 - Hakone National Park, Lake Ashi Cruise Hot Springs Mt. Fuji

Today, we proceed to the beautiful Fuji Hakone National Park, where we take you for an exquisite cruise on Lake Ashi. Enjoy the enchanting cruise as well as the picturesque and unforgettable surroundings of Lake Ashi. Next, we proceed to Owakudani Valley, also known as 'Boiling Valley', where sulphurous fumes rise from crevices in rocks.

See Mt. Fuji! towering to a height of 3,776 metres. It is the tallest mountain of Japan and its most distinguishing physical landmark. We take you on an exciting excursion to the 5th station of Mt. Fuji (subject to weather conditions). Today, we expose you to the original Japanese way of life, as you experience living in a typical Japanese lodging and sleep on traditional Japanese tatami mats. Enjoy a vegetarian Japanese dinner. Overnight at hotel Lake Kawaguchi Seigaku or similar in Mt. Fuji.

Day - 4 - Toyota Car Museum

Today, we take you to Mishima Station to board the Bullet Train. Experience a thrilling ride on the Bullet Train, the fastest train in the world, from Mishima to Shinfuji. We proceed to the Green tea plantation where you can taste authentic Japanese tea while taking part in a Japanese green tea ceremony. Later, we visit the amazing Toyota Car Museum in Nagoya. Enjoy the displays and learn the history of the famous Toyota cars. Overnight at hotel Nagoya Tokyu or similar in Nagoya.

Day - 5 - Kyoto

Today, we will proceed to Kyoto. En-route we visit the Todaiji Temple in Nara. The best-known relic at Todaiji Temple is its Daibutsu, a colossal statue of the world's largest gilded bronze Buddha, 15 meters in height. We proceed to Deer Park. The park is home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Considered messengers of the gods in Shinto, Nara's deer have become a symbol of the city and have even been designated a National Treasure. Later on, we proceed to Kyoto. As we arrive in Kyoto, we visit the famous Kinkakuji (golden pavilion), originally built in 1394.

The present structure covered with gold leaf is a replica of the original which was destroyed in 1955. We take you to a Kimono fashion show. See some of the fine creation of Japanese weaving. Here you can meet a Geisha for a simple orientation and you can take pictures with a geisha too. We now visit the Kiyomizu temple which is nested in the quiet foothills of Mt Ottawa. It has a large veranda supported on hundreds of pillars built-in 1633. Overnight at hotel Holiday Inn Kyoto or similar in Kyoto.

Day - 6 - Osaka

Today, we proceed to Osaka. On arrival, we visit the majestic Osaka Castle. Construction on Osaka Castle started in 1583 on the former site of the Ishiyama Honganji Temple, which had been destroyed by Oda Nobunaga thirteen years earlier. Toyotomi Hideyoshi intended the castle to become the centre of a new, unified Japan under Toyotomi rule. A few years after Hideyoshi's death, Tokugawa troops attacked and destroyed the castle and terminated the Toyotomi lineage. Osaka Castle was rebuilt by Tokugawa Hidetada in the 1620s, but its main castle tower was struck by lightning in 1665 and burnt down.

It was not until 1931 that the present ferroconcrete reconstruction of the castle was built. Major repair works gave the castle new glamour in 1997. Inside the castle is a museum that documents Toyotomi Hideyoshi's life and the history of the castle. The rest of the evening is free to explore Shinsaibashi, the famous shopping and eating paradise of Osaka. Overnight at hotel Osaka Dai-ichi or similar in Osaka.

Day - 7 - Return home with wonderful memories

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Later we drive to Kansai International Airport for our flight back home. Its time to say goodbye to the new friends you've made. We hope you take back many happy memories of your SOTC World Famous Tour.
