Take your raft down the Alaknanda, one of the most revered rivers in the Indian Himalayas. Even better, go up to the upper stretches of the river, where you'll find wild rapids and a variety of gorges and forests. You will experience a variety of rapids from Grade III to IV+ on this adventure tour, including the well-known Hillary Fall and Kakkar Fall.
Day 1: Arrival and Haridwar to Jayalgarh Rafting
On the first day of the trip, you will leave Haridwar in the early morning for the Deluxe camps on the banks of the Alaknanda River. After having breakfast at the campsite, the rafting instructor will communicate the rafting and safety instructions. After this, you will start the river rafting on the lower Alaknanda from Jayalgarh to Devprayag, at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. Return to the camps in the evening, settle down, have dinner, and stay overnight at the camps.
Day 2: Jayalgarh to Chamoli Rafting
After waking up, have breakfast and get ready to leave for Chamoli District for upper Alaknanda river rafting. On reaching the Alaknanda River, rest for a while, and then you can start your rafting session until Nandapragyag. This rafting route will have 14 to 15 rapids of grades 2 to 4+. Camping and overnight stays in tents are available on the bank of the Alaknanda River at Nandaprayag.
Day 3: Nandaprayag to Karnaprayag Rafting
This will be the most challenging day of the tour. After having breakfast in the morning, rafting will start from Nandaprayag to Karnaprayag. This route will have approximately 20 rapids, which will take around 5 hours to complete. During this route, you will come across the ‘Hillary Falls rapid. This rafting trip will end at Karnaprayag. Stay overnight at Karnaprayag.
Day 4: Karnaprayag to Gauchar Rafting
Have breakfast in the morning and start rafting from Karnaprayag to Gauchar through 10 to 12 rapids of grades 3 to 4. Stay overnight at Gauchar in a tent.
Day 5: Gauchar to Rudraprayag and Departure
This will be the last day of the Alaknanda rafting trip. You will start rafting from Gauchar to Rudraprayag. On reaching Rudraprayag, the tour will end, and you will return with a lot of fun and memorable experiences and memories.
