The annual pilgrimage, known as Amarnath Yatra, to the holy shrine in the caves high up in the mountains of Jammu & Kashmir coincides with Shravan Poornima. The Shivalingam at Amarnath is formed of ice. It is the firm belief and trust of Hindus, that those who are able to visit this shrine will have no re-birth. Legend has it that Shiva recounted to Parvati the secret of creation in a cave in Amarnath. Unknown to them, a pair of mating doves eaves dropped on this conversation and having learned the secret; are reborn again and again, and have made the cave their eternal abode.
Short Itinerary
Day - 01
Arrive at Srinagar Airport and transfer to hotel. Later proceed to half day sightseeing of Srinagar visit famous Mughal garden Chashma Shahi, Nishat and Shalimar .
Day - 02
Early in the morning proceed to batal and then Helicopter to Barari Marg. After transferred to Sonmarg.
Day -03
After Breakfast check out the hotel and proceed to Srinagar.
Day -04
proceed to Srinagar airport to board a flight for your onwards journey
Arrive at Srinagar airport and you are transferred to the hotel. Check-in the hotel and relax for some time. Later proceed to half day sightseeing of Srinagar visit famous Mughal garden Chashma Shahi, Nishat and Shalimar. These gardens were where Mughal emperors once relaxed with their exquisite queens and even today are popular picnic spots. In evening visit Dal Lake to enjoy the Shikara Ride. After ride return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day - 2 - Srinagar - Baltal - Amarnath - Sonamarg
Early in the morning, proceed to Neelgrath.
After a short drive, start with the security check before boarding the helicopter to Panjtarni. Upon arrival at Panjtarni, start trekking for the holy Amarnath Cave. After darshan of Shiv-Lingam, return to Panjtarni for your onward journey back to Neelgrath.
On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Sonmarg.
Note: Helicopter transfer is subjected to weather conditions.
Overnight in Sonmarg.
Day - 3 - Sonmarg - Srinagar
After Breakfast check out the hotel and proceed to Srinagar.On arrival check-in, the hotel and relax for some time. Rest of the day is at leisure for your individual activities and you can also explore the famous sightseeing of Srinagar on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day - 4 - Depart Srinagar
After Breakfast check out the hotel and proceed to Srinagar airport to board a flight for your onward journey.
