The land finds exotic flora in the forests and grasslands. A flower called Neelakurunji appears once in tweleve years. A beautiful blue, it paints the hills in blue. A rare sight since it comes only once in twelve years, it calls for a lot of tourist attraction. The Neelakurinji, will bloom next in 2018 AD.
The highest peak in South India – Anamudi – which towers over 2695 metres and is an ideal and favourable spot for campers who like to trek is also here in Munnar.
Atukad waterfalls is a beautiful place to visit, a scenic waterfalls in the mid of hills and jungles.
The best way to feel th mountains and their greenery could be the cycle ride I the mountains, a complete ecstatic experience.
Some 10 kilometers away from Munnar is Chithirapuram, a land which has old playgrounds, and sleepy little cottages. All of these which give this place the charm of that of old world. It is also a world famous state for tea plantations.
Some 2 kilometers from Munnar, there is a small place filled with woods and a small stream. Supposedly a good location Good location to take photos.
A holiday in Kerala is incomplete is one does not visit Munnar. This used to be the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India.
