Amarnath – One of the holy trinity, Shiva is a living god. The most sacred and most ancient book of India, the Rig Veda evokes his presence in its hymns, Vedic Myths, rituals and even testify to his existance from the dawn of time. Legend has it that Shiva recounted to Parvati the secret of creation in a cave in Amarnath. Unknown to them, a pair of doves eavesdropped on this conversation and having learnt the secret, are reborn again and again, and have made the cave their eternal abode. The annual yatra to Holy Amarnath Cave, situated at 14000 ft. above sea level, is organised by the Jammu Kashmir State Government during the month of July and August. The intending pilgrims are allowed to perform darshan from Ashard Purnimashi to Shravan Purnimashi which course spreads over a month or so.

 

Day 1: Sonmarg
Arrive Srinagar by air and transfer to Sonamarg. The distance of about 100 kms will be covered in about 3 – 4 hrs. Rest of the day free at leisure for acclimatization and prepare for next day to board Helicopter for Amarnath Darshan. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2: Srinagar
Early Morning drive to Baltal to board Helicopter to fly towards Amarnath Cave for Darshan. The route is ascending right up to the cave. Have a dip in the ice cold holy water of Amarnath Stream, which flows, near the cave. Inside the cave there is scenery of calm tranquility of white and glistering three massive ice formation ( Lingams) symbol of Lord Shiva, Parvathi and Ganesh. After Darshan fly back to Baltal and proceed towards Srinagar. Overnight at the Deluxe Houseboat.

Day 3: Srinagar
Next Morning with divine memories you will be transferred to airport to connect the flight for onwards destination.

The yatra starts on July 1 this year. There are no fees as such, only the yatra parchi is to be got issued from the J&K Bank. Accomodation shall be available in Pahalgam,Seshnag,Panchtharani and the Holy Cave. The distance tobe covered shall be around 50 kms from this traditional route.
