Assam Cruise Tour Package

Day - 1 – Guwahati

Arrive at Guwahati airport and you will be transferred to the hotel. Later we will drive for the Kamakhya Devi temple. After the temple, we will proceed for the Assam cruise. All gather on the open deck to enjoy the first sail and scan the river for a fleeting sight of the Gangetic Dolphins. In the evening enjoy your dinner with pleasure.

Day - 2 – Full day sail

In the morning you can do yoga on the deck of the cruise. After breakfast, you will enjoy the talk on the Assam’s geographical location in the national and international context and how it is acclaiming recognition. In the evening cruise will be anchored at the deserted island and enjoy sitting around a bonfire to indulge in barbecued snacks. Overnight stay will be on the cruise.

Day - 3 – Silghat

Wake up in the morning, after the breakfast, enjoy a healthy talk on Wildlife in Kaziranga, now we will sail for Silghat, After reaching the Silghat we will take a drive for Tea Gardens, which is a vast expanse of the undulating estate with tea bushes, watching the tribal women pick tea leaves. After visiting tea garden we will visit a co-operative Jute Mill is an interesting place to understand how the Jute fibre takes the form of very eco-friendly gunny bags. By sunset, we enjoy a cultural evening on the ship. We have an early dinner and retire for the evening.

Day - 4 – Kaziranga National Park

After the early morning breakfast, we drive out towards the Kaziranga National Park. The Park is the home of the various wild species like One Horn Rhinoceros, Tiger, Elephant, Deer, Asiatic wild buffalo and a rich variety of birds. Now we will take a ride of the elephant safari. We search for the elusive rhinoceros, tigers, swamp deer and hog deer and more and a large number of very interesting birds. After the safari, we will drive back to the cruise.

Day - 5 - East of Kaziranga

Today we will sail towards the east part of the Kaziranga National Park. We proceed for the safari in our tenders for about two hours. The shores are high but one can see roof turtles, water lizards, otters, serpent eagles and many more. The sightings are always determined by the weather conditions. We return for lunch. This evening we enjoy the onboard activities at cruise. The evening on a deserted island with bonfire is always unusual.

Day - 6 – Sail Toward local villages

After Yoga, as we have our breakfast, we sail towards the Local Village and further on to Majuli, a cosmos of Assamese culture where various philosophies co-exist and thrive. We will try to know the village customs, culture and daily life. After village sightseeing, we will arrive on the mainland where a drive takes us to a scenic corner of a Satra for an interesting cultural performance by Satriya singers and dancers. We return to the ship and we prepare for a Traditional Assamese food and evening.

Day - 7 - Sibsagar

After an early breakfast, we start of excursion to Sibsagar, the ancient city and capital of the Tai-speaking Ahoms. Sibsagar town literally means ‘the ocean of Lord Shiva’ as it is built around a huge man-made water tank ordered by the Ahom Queen. Later we will visit the Shiva Dol, it is believed to be the highest Shiva temple in India. Thereafter, we drive to a Tea Estate for a relaxed afternoon where we enjoy a traditional Assamese lunch. Now we will be back on the cruise.

Day - 8 – Jorhat

We will start our day with Yoga and then breakfast and walk along with swamp to see the diversity of nature. Later we will reach the Jorhat where the luggage is brought out of the cabins according to the flight schedule.
