The nearest airport is situated at Srinagar at about 204 km from Kargil. Indian Airlines and Jet Airways operate daily flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to Srinagar. Buses are available from Srinagar to reach Kargil.
Kargil does not have any railway stationa and the nearest railway station is Jammu-Tawi railway station at about 540 km away in Jammu. Buses and taxis are available from Jammu to Kargil.
There are regular bus services from Srinagar and Leh to Kargil. Jeep and Taxis are also another options that one can take. Private deluxe and luxury buses also ply regularly from Leh and Srinagar. Buses are also run from Jammu to Kargil.
