Spanning over an area of 1,985 sq. km, Namdapha National Park is the largest tracts of wilderness in northeastern region (Arunachal Pradesh) of India. The park largely inaccessible, has diverse habitats and flora and fauna that are typical of this area. For visiting the park one requires an inner-line permit, which can be obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi in advance.
Namdapha Park is the only one in the World to have the four Feline species of big cat namely the Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and Clouded Leopard and numbers of Lesser cats. Other large predators are dholes, wolves, and Asiatic black, red panda, red fox, yellow-throated marten, fishing cat, Asiatic golden cat, indian muntjac, Hoolock Gibbons, Assamese Macaques and Rhesus Macaques. The park has about 425 bird species including laughing thrushes, parrotbills, fulvettas, shrike babblers and scimitar babblers etc.
