Chikhaldara is a picturesque plateau situated in the Amravati district of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra. It is the only coffee growing area of Maharashtra and is known for its deep valleys. Perched at an altitude of 1,118mts, Chikhaldara offers plenty wildlife, lovely lakes and waterfalls. Chikaldhara is named after the demon Kichaka, who was killed by the Bhima. It is famous for its nearby wildlife sanctuaries namely Dhakna Kolkaz National Park and Melghat Tiger Reserve. The Gavilgadh fort at Amravati is a must see for the travelers.
